let me tell you about the best $100 i ever spent. well, make that the best $2000. i just got back from the apple store with my mac book pro in hand. they replaced the whole processor in my computer, and yeah, in under 24 hours.
a few months ago, when my hard drive died on my dell, i had to go online and go through a rigorous diagnostic process with someone over chat. when that failed to solve the problem, I had to schedule an appointment with someone calling from India. they eventually mailed me a new one. I had to mail the old one back. they talked me through the installation process. then a few weeks later when the dvd drive went, i went through the same process, three times. when all three attempts failed, they finally agreed to mail me a new drive, but this time it took two months for it to get to me. at that point i’d had enough and switched over to Mac. when the DVD burner failed on my new Mac, i went back and installed the DVD burner Dell had finally mailed me that was still sitting in the closet into my old PC and THAT one didn’t work either. amazing. they’re still sticking it to me from beyond the grave.
yep, i had problems right off the bat with this computer too, but let me tell ya, it was pretty sweet scheduling an appointment with the Mac store for 1pm, being accepted at 1:05, and having my computer back and running by noon the next day.
most of my friends won’t even talk to me about computer problems any more because all they can say is “i told you so” and all parties are sick of it. but yeah. they did. so here i am, standing before you all drinking the sweet sweet kool-aid with my mac pom pom’s in hand.
